ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small town near Rochester, Minnesota. In 2015, I moved to Iowa to attend Northwestern College, and in 2019, began my teaching career in Sioux Center, Iowa as a third grade teacher. It has been a dream job. The best part of my job will always be building relationships with my students, but I also enjoy collaborating with others teachers and administrators to promote effective data use in our school.

When I am not teaching or working with data, I lead a very active lifestyle. Some of my favorite hobbies are traveling, hiking in state and national parks, long-distance cycling, and attending my students' sporting events. I also enjoying playing piano, solving Rubik's cubes, and playing board games with friends and family.

CALLAHAN DATA CONSULTING, LLC

I first became interested in data visualization as a first-year teacher in 2019. I knew there had to be a better way to organize the vast amount of information I was collecting about each of my students. Over a few years, I started building small systems to organize my own scores, and these slowly evolved to become grade level and building-wide systems. Callahan Data Consulting, LLC was born in November of 2022 when I realized my school was not the only one in need of high-quality data visualization tools. Helping others understand their data through the power of visualization is my goal.

How I Can Help You

Data Organization

In an age defined by seemingly endless standardized tests, schools have no shortage of data. But maybe your data is a bit scattered. I can work with you to centralize and organize your data into one easy system, customized to your specific needs. No frills, nothing you'll never use, only what you want and need to start making data-informed decisions.

Once we've organized your data, it needs to be user-friendly. In many cases, that means putting it in a visually-appealing, user-friendly format. Among other tools, I use Google Looker Studio, an interactive data visualization platform, to help schools analyze their data more efficiently. It is my experience that when data looks better, people look longer and closer. When people look longer and closer, they learn more from it. When they learn more from it, they act on it better and faster. This ultimately leads to improved teaching and learning in your school.

Do you need help building a data culture or developing data literacy in your school? My favorite part about being a data consultant is meeting with people to help them improve their schools. I want to work with you to develop the skills you need to continue on this journey alone. Giving you tools to use is fun, but teaching you how to use data is the fulfilling part of this job.

If you are unsure of your school's current data culture, look at this self-assessment to find out which stage you may be in!

Data Reporting

Maybe you feel good about the data you are using within your organization, but you need help communicating your data to stake holders like families, your school board, or tax-payers in the community. Let me design easy-to-read, printable reports, ready for you to send home in minutes!

Do you want an expert to bounce ideas off and get advice from? Let's schedule a meeting to talk about your needs. Every system I build is tailored to a specific school's needs. Let me build something for you that will show you the data you need to gain insight and make those tough decisions!
